Do It Yourself (DIY) Headlamp Polish
It has being almost 3 years since I bought my Toyota Vios. I started to notice my headlamp get is getting yellowish. The yellowish on the headlamp plastic cover is caused by the strong UV light from the sun, heat from the bulb and some contamination. Throughout the time, the headlamp’s cover started to oxidized and became yellow colour.
Well, for my case the yellowish is not so obvious yet can I can see from my naked eyes. Here what we going to do, we going to polish off the yellowish from the headlamps plastic cover with Getf 1 Crystal Light Headlamp Polisher.
This product only cost me RM16.30, is quite cheap for restore the headlamps. The headlamp polisher procedures are pretty straight forward and there are instructions on behind the box.
Now we are ready to polish the headlamp.
Step 1: Clean the headlamp with damp cloth and dry it out.
Step 2: Pour the appropriate amount of headlamp polisher onto the given cloth.
Step 3: Polish the headlamp with the cloth. Apply a gentle force to the headlamp until the headlamp become crystal clear and shinning.
Add the polisher on the cloth if it wasn’t sufficient to remove the yellowish on the headlamp’s cover. Continue polish until the whole headlamp’s restore back its original crystal clear surface. The whole process shall be less than 10 minutes.
Step 4: After completed the headlamp polish, next is to apply the UV protection on the headlamp’s cover. Apply adequate amount of UV protection on the given sponge and spread evenly on the headlamp’s cover. This process is very fast, took me less than a minute to completed.
Once completed , let the headlamp’s cover dry out.
My Toyota Vios headlamps are shinning clear and clean again 🙂
